Red Arrows face Mazembe in friendly
MTN/FAZ Super Division side Red Arrows face DR Congo club TP Mazembe in club friendly on Saturday in Lubumbashi.
Mazembe confirmed on their official website that they will host Arrows in one friendly game to warm-up for their CAF Champions League Group A match against leaders Al Ahly of Egypt in Lubumbashi on September 2.
“As part of Mazembe's preparation of the fifth round of the Champions League against Al Ahly in the absence of a national championship game this weekend, TP has invited the Zambian team for a friendly," Mazembe stated.
The development means Arrows scheduled MTN/FAZ Super Division home game against Konkola Blades on Saturday in Lusaka has been postponed.
And Blades officials say they were only informed on Friday about the rescheduled game just as the team was preparing to travel to Lusaka.
"We will now play the game on Wednesday," an official at Blades told MTNFootball.com.
Arrows are currently fourth on the Super Division table with 35 points from 21 games and are nine off the pace of leaders Zanaco.
