Zanaco beat National Assembly 1-0 to open a four point lead at the top of the MTN/FAZ Super Division table.

The Bankers moved from 41 to 44 points with nine games left to play to stay on course for their sixth league title within the last 10 years.

Zanaco sealed their home win at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka through a Lewis Macha goal in the 15th minute.

Assembly on the other hand are rooted at the bottom of the Super Division table and are without a win in their last six games since returning from the three week mid season break after collecting just two from a possible 18.

Elsewhere, Zesco United stayed a close second on 39 points after they were held 1-1 away at Kafubu Stadium in Luanshya.

And Power Dynamos defence of their title suffered a setback after a scoreless draw away to Forest Rangers in Ndola but they stayed third despite the result on 37 points.

Meanwhile, the biggest cheer was at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe where Nkana shipped in three second half goals without reply in the second half against Konkola Mine Police after a first half fraught with injury stoppages.

Reynold Kampamba and Evans Kangwa slotted in superb goals each in the 70th and 74th minutes respectively.

Mwila Kabwe scored a rare header in the 88th minute to seal the win in front of a very pack house at Arthur Davies where Nkana's home fans roared on their team throughout the 90 minutes.

Nkana stay in 12th place despite the win but move four points away from the bottom four teams in their quest to avoid being sucked into a demotion dog fight.
