Sunzu was close to PAOK...
It has emerged that South Africa’s Bongani Khumalo beat Zambia defender Stophilla Sunzu to the loan deal at Greek side PAOK Solaniki.

Israeli FIFA agent Nir Karin told MTNFootball.com that he was confident that sooner or later Sunzu would find a deal in Europe.

"I got Sunzu an offer from PAOK Saloniki from Greece but in end they went for South African Bongani Khumalo of Tottenham," Karin said.

Khumalo had the advantage of a free loan deal, while TP Mazembe had a fee in mind for Sunzu.

"I'm sure sooner or later Sunzu will be in one of the best European clubs," Karin said.

Sunzu has been at Mazembe since 2010, whom he joined from Zambian club Konkola Blades after a brief spell at French Ligue 2 side Chateauroux.
