Nkana and Zambia Under-20 striker Evans Kangwa will not be joining South African Premiership champions Orlando Pirates.

Nkana president Patrick Njobvu told MTNFootball.com that Kangwa's much publicised move to Pirates is looking very unlikely.

"As far as we are concerned he will stay and not going anywhere and another thing is the transfer window is also closed so he will be playing for Nkana for the foreseeable future," Njobvu said .

"It has been quiet. We got back to them over their interest in the boy and they did not come back to us."

Pirates made an offer for Kangwa last year after the strikers’ impressive show at the 2011 COSAFA Youth Championship in Botswana last December.

At the tournament, Kangwa won the player of the tournament and the golden boot award after scoring seven goals and guiding Zambia Under-20 to a successful defence of their COSAFA Youth Championship title.

Meanwhile, Kangwa has yet to return to Nkana for pre-season training after the Kitwe giants gave him a fortnights’ leave.

"He has been away for since December at the COSAFA and later the Africa Cup so we decided to give him some time to rest," Nkana coach Linos Makwaza said.

Kangwa was a non-playing member for the 2012 Africa Cup champions at the tournament co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea from January 21 to February 12.
