Sserunkuma, Omunuk show good form in Kenya

Ugandan Cranes striker Dan Sserunkuma will just not stop scoring as he netted the sole goal in Gor Mahia’s win over Kariobangi Sharks in a pre-season build-up on Saturday at the City Stadium in Nairobi.

Sserunkuma who scored one of the goals in a 2-all draw for the Uganda Cranes away to Rwanda last Wednesday in an International friendly scored from the spot against the Division One side as Gor Mahia prepare for the start of the Tusker Premier League and their CAF Confederations game next weekend.

The Ugandan striker voted Kenya’s Best Footballer of the 2012 season told MTNFootball.com last week while training with the Cranes that he is more than focused to win the League title for Gor Mahia this season after a narrow miss last season. “We want to work even harder this season and win that trophy,” said Sserunkuma.

Another Uganda player Robert Omunuk recently signed by Kenya League champions Tusker FC was also on the score sheet on Sunday after his team beat Kenya Revenue Authority in another pre-season match at Ruaraka Grounds.

Moses Arita scored a brace as Tusker Premier League (TPL) Champions Tusker, while Omunuk signed from Ugandan army side Simba FC scored the other. Tusker FC will travel to Seychelles this week to clash with Saint Michael United in the preliminary round of the Orange CAF Champions League over the weekend.
