FUFA Super League 2012/13

League Overview

Uganda’s top Tier League, FUFA Super League (FSL) features 16 teams and has no major sponsor.

The League was formally run by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), until 2010 when a separate body run by clubs was formed under the supervision of FIFA to run the League under the Uganda Super League umbrella, but the FA’s Assembly formed another body (FSL) in 2012 to run the League.

Express FC are the reigning Champions, having won the title under the watchful eyes of Coach Sam Ssimbwa, a former Ugandan International. Last season three teams Fire Master FC, Hoima FC and Utoda FC were relegated, while Sports Club Victoria University, Kira Young and Entebbe FC were promoted from the second Tier, Big League.

The 2012/13 FUFA Super League kicked off on September 25, 2012. It is expected to climax on May 10, 2013.

The 16 teams in the League include; KCCA FC, Vipers FC, Sports Club Victoria, SC Villa, Entebbe FC, Simba FC, URA FC, Kira Young, Bidco FC, Proline FC, Masaka LC, Express FC, Police FC, Victors FC, Aurum Roses and Water FC.
