Former Manzini Sundowns head coach Kenny Ndlazi is set to bounce back in the ‘Basop IKappa Kappa’ ensemble as Technical Director (TD).

MTNFootball.com has gathered that Sundowns is in a process of restructuring their technical bench, with the South African-born mentor appointed as the TD.  It was disclosed that negotiations between both parties are already at an advance stage.

The former South Africa under-23 coach parted ways with the team almost two seasons ago under a cloud of controversy. This was after the players were reported to have revoked against the coach.

He was replaced by his assistant Rodney ‘Stumbo’ Charles, who was also fired, with current coach Rodwell Dhlakama taking over the hot seat last season.

The South African-born mentor joined the team while still competing in the first division and won promotion to the premier league with them.

Sundowns Management Committee (MC) chairman Mark Carmichael could only confirm that the team was in a process of restructuring its technical bench.

“We have opted to also hire a fulltime General Manager for the team, which is an ongoing process. We will make certain changes in our technical bench but the public will be informed in due course,” he said.

Carmichael explained this was in line with their mission of running the team professionally by having a full time administrator.

TZD Sports Management director Zakhele Dlamini, a company which is handling the affairs of Ndlazi, was non-committal when reached for comment on the matter.

“There are a number of teams that have shown interest in the services of the coach locally but I can not name them as negotiations are ongoing,”Dlamini said.

Sundowns coach Rodwell Dhlakama said he had not yet heard of anything to that effect so he would not comment on the matter.

Ndlazi had previously been linked with the Highlanders coaching job but apparently priced himself out of the job with his financial demands.
