Landers midfielder Sabelo is on Wanderers’ radar

The national under-20 captain was yesterday spotted at the Trade Fair Ground during the hub giants’ practice matches.
However, Gamedze and Mbabane Swallows attacking midfielder Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze did not play for Wanderers during the games.
Both players played for a selection team which consisted of other elite players, including the likes of Royal Leopard winger Juries Gama, Musa Sikhondze, Mbabane Highlanders Xolani ‘Chocco’ Sibandze, Moneni Pirates’ Menzi ‘Magawugawu’ Simelane and Manzini Sundowns’ Jean Nguimbous that played against Wanderers.
According to an informed source at Wanderers, the workaholic defender’s negotiations on personal terms with the maroon and white side are at advanced stages. The player had in the past weeks been linked with a move to army side Young Buffaloes after his former team Madlenya claimed full ownership of the youngster.
Wanderers Chairman Sidney Nxumalo was diplomatic when MTNFootball.com sought confirmation on the matter.
“Sabelo is not one of our players so I would not like to talk much about him. He is a very good young player that I believe any team would like to have in its camp,” said Nxumalo.
He added that they are still to approach some of the teams for the players they have set their eyes on and once everything has been finalised, the club will make an official statement.
Highlanders PRO Dumsani ‘DU’ Sibandze said he cannot comment on the matter as Gamedze was their player and he had not indicated any intentions of joining another team. He assumed that the players were part of the games just to keep fit ahead of the new season.
