Malanti Chiefs cross swords with Mamba

Tonight: Malanti Chiefs vs. Green Mamba

Venue: Somhlolo National Stadium

Time: 7pm

What a match-up! Malanti Chiefs vs Green Mamba – it almost feels like Arsenal playing Barcelona.

Both sides are renowned for their possession and fast attacking football, as they use young, quick and skilled players just like the English and Spanish sides. Already, all football fanatics, those who enjoy good football, can take their time to go watch this game as it is going to thrill.

This is a pending fixture and any side that wins it will go up to four points as they both have a point apiece.

Interestingly, when Malanti played Royal Leopard to a 2-2 draw last Friday night, Green Mamba had also played Mbabane Midas City at the Somhlolo National Stadium in an earlier game.

This surely gave both sides’ coaches the chance to spy on each other, so a highly tactical but exciting match can be expected.

Green Mamba’s Lloyd Mtasa has a very good squad, probably the strongest in the league and has made a couple more signings in including red-hot Zimbabwean striker Tendai Nyamadzawu.

The tall striker who has everything a player needs – good control, skill, technique, predatory instincts and a team player – scored on debut last week, earning his side a crucial point after a good performance.

He linked well with the likes of Lungelo Tembe, Phumlani Ngwenya and former Malanti midfielder Muzi ‘Mzo’ Dlamini as well as Njabulo Tfwala.

The experienced line of defence consisting of Siyabonga ‘Msholozi’ Mdluli, Sabelo ‘Shushu’ Shilubane and Rodger Bhahiya will also be tested tonight.

Malanti also has some good players who can win a match even under harsh conditions.

These include the talented and on form attacking midfielder Tebogo Motale, defender Sikhumbuzo Ntimane, midfielder Vusi Madinane and veteran Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko, who had a sterling game last Friday in central midfield.

This is also a clash that will revive last season’s FixedFone Cup final memories as Green Mamba beat Malanti 1-0 to lift the trophy.
