Manzini Sundowns are ready to release talented midfielder Hloniphani Ndebele back to Mbabane Highlanders but only with a compensation fee of not less than E80,000.

Sundowns PRO Muzi Matsenjwa told MTNFootball.com that Highlanders needed to come to them for negotiations because they had already spent on the player and paid him a month’s salary while also providing accommodation for him. He said they are looking at not nothing less than E80,000.

The dreadlock Zimbabwean-born star player was discovered to have signed a contract with the capital city giants a week after he was cleared by the same team to Sundowns.

The player’s change of heart about joining Sundowns has sparked controversy over which team owns him as he is said to have signed with both clubs. However, after Highlanders managed to stop his registration on Friday, Sundowns are ready to let him go.

“It’s true Ndebele met the chairman yesterday (Friday) and was very remorseful for everything. He acknowledged his mistakes and that he had committed to us for a season while also feeling sorry he would not be playing in the Charity Cup,” Sundowns’ PRO Muzi Matsenjwa told MTNFootball.com. He said the player’s case would be handled tomorrow (Tuesday).

“Sundowns will release Ndebele because we only want to keep players who are fully committed to the club not players’ whose hearts or minds are elsewhere,” said Matsenjwa.

He said with all due respect to Ndebele, who he described as a good player, Sundowns would still thrive without him as they have some talented youngsters who eagerly want his position and are ready to fill the void.

Highlanders’ PRO Dumsani ‘DU’ Sibandze insisted Ndebele was legitimately their player as he had only one contract in the country and that with them not any other club.
