Manzini Sundowns are set to make their biggest catch of the season as they are set to sign former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs striker Nkosinathi Nhleko.

The player is expected to start training with the ambitious side on Wednesday afternoon.

'Chippa' Nhleko is being accompanied by another highly rated former Highlands Park left full back, Levy ‘Bhasera’ Mokgotshu.

MTNFootball.com has gathered that Sundowns were racing against time to register the player ahead of their Swazi Telecom Charity Cup second semi-final match against Mbabane Swallows on Sunday at Somhlolo National Stadium.

“They want to boost their squad ahead of the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup. When he arrives he would be quickly accessed by the technical bench headed by Zimbabwean coach Rodwell Dhlakama and if he would impress him then he would be registered,” said a reliable source at Sundowns.

The players’ business manager Abel ‘Chacklas’ Shongwe confirmed yesterday that both players were coming to Swaziland to be attached with the Manzini based outfit.

“They are good players and they are coming there tomorrow (today). We hope they will start training with the team upon their arrival,” he said.

The former Malanti Chiefs coach says it will be upon Sundowns to make a decision if they are interested in the players.

Sundowns are assembling what on paper looks like a dream team already. They have already made good signing in the likes of former Manzini Wanderers and Mbabane Highlanders midfilder Hloniphani Ndebele and ex-Moneni Pirates goalkeeper Pride Zendera.

The ‘Kappa Boys’ are also on the verge of signing Mbabane Swallows striker Mfanafuthi ‘Taribo’ Bhembe.

Manzini Sundowns PRO Muzi Matsenjwa said he could neither confirm nor deny the issue of the towering forward, saying they were in a process of enforcing their squad for the new season.

“We want to have a team that will compete for honours. For now we would not confirm any player that we have not signed. We are going to brief our fans once we sign them and we will keep them updated,” he said.
