Swaziland’s national football team, nicknamed Sihlangu Semnikati (King’s Shield), has never qualified for either the FIFA World Cup or the CAF Africa Cup of Nations.

Their best performances in an international tournament came in 1999, 2002 and 2003 when they reached the last four of the COSAFA Cup.

They are coached by Obed Mlotsa and boast few players who are based outside their domestic league, though the likes of Tony Tsabedze and Denis Masina have managed to establish good careers in South Africa’s Premier Soccer League.

They draw their players predominantly from the Swazi MTN Premier League.
