Komphela: Stars ready to “drill for gold”
Steve Komphela, Coach of Free State Stars
Ea Lla Koto get their MTN8 campaign underway this weekend when they face SuperSport United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The club has lost several top players, including influential striker Edward Manqele and defender Ayanda Gcaba, but Komphela expects his charges to come out fighting.
“All has been revealed and the team has a new look and feel as a push to the beginning of the season,” Komphela wrote on Stars’ official website.
“We have also made changes in our appearances with filling in the positions left by players that have left the team.
“So now we are rebuilding and it is looking very good, the players coming in are fitting accordingly and we are positive about the outcome to be.
“There are important positions to consider, like the front department. We may have more players coming in but it is too early to conclude as we are still in the process.
“Training on the other hand has been great and the boys are surely making it back to their fitness levels. I am just happy that there are no injuries and progress is imminent.
“The season will kick start soon and we will be ready to drill for the gold. May everyone anticipate the season in good will and I wish all a good bill of health.”
