The Cape Town-born central defender caught the limelight in 2004 during his time with Pretoria University and soon made a lucrative move to Mamelodi Sundowns in 2005. However, in 2010 he left the Brazilians to join Orlando Pirates due to lack of gametime.

The 25-year old made a number of appearances for the Buccaneers as back up for Lucky Lekgwathi and Rooi Mahamutsa, but the arrival of Bafana regular Siyabonga Sangweni meant that he was once again facing the risk of being a spectator.

He joined Golden Arrows at the start of the 2011/12 season on a loan deal and should be a serious contender for a regular spot.

Robyn is a calm defender with strong aerial presence and good man marking skills. He received 3 Bafana Bafana caps between 2005 and 2008.

Robyn Johannes left Orlando Pirates for Arrows to get regular game time and he has achieved that as he has been a regular starter in central defence.

He missed some games after picking up a knee injury during a cup game, but he has been a key member of the squad.

Despite being sidelined by injuries Johannes managed 20 appearances for Arrows while on loan from Orlando Pirates.

He had a good season in central defence as he continued to prove himself as one of the clean and calm defenders in the league.
