Komphela targeting win against Arrows
Steve Komphela, coach of Free State Stars
The two sides will meet at the Charles Mopeli Stadium on Wednesday night with Ea Lla Koto going into the clash as one of five unbeaten sides, while Arrows are fresh from a morale-boosting 1-0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns.
However, Komphela says they have to win the match at all costs after playing to a 1-1 draw against Maritzburg United last Friday.
“It certainly was an intense game which could have gone either way and we conceded from a set piece due to poor marking,” said Komphela through the club’s website.
“But we responded very well and we soldiered on until we found a goal through the substitute (Dove) Wome who drilled the ball very well to beat (Shu-aib) Walters.
“Looking at our next game against Golden Arrows it’s a must win game as we are sitting on eight points and we need two points to complete our first group of five, and our target is ten points per group.”
Stars are currently in 3rd place on the log with eight points, four ahead of Arrows in 12th place.
