Bidvest Wits goalkeeper coach Andre Arendse admits he was relieved to collect a point from his team's 1-1 draw with Premiership newcomers Chippa United in Cape Town on Sunday.

In a league tie played in sweltering heat, Erwin Isaacs's 89th minute equaliser cancelled out Vuyisile Ntombayithethi's first-half opener for the Chilli Boys at Athlone Stadium.

"I've got to say it was a very spirited performance from them (Chippa) today, and I can breathe a sigh of relief now. We will gladly take a point away from home,” said arendse on football411.com.

"I think we only played for 45 minutes today, we will go away and work on that. They were very dangerous, and defensively they put us under pressure which was very difficult to deal wit

"It's easy to blame the weather but our finishing touch also let us down and that's something we can work on as well," concluded the former Bafana Bafana number one.
