A decision on whether Bloemfontein Celtic will keep Ghana striker Ransford Osei is yet to be made. But, stay or go the club feel he is close to being back to his best.

The former FC Twente player who joined Siwelele in January has struggled for game time, making just four appearances (three as a substitute). But a lot of that has been down to mis-fortune.

“Look … I’d say Ransford Osei is one of the best finishers we have at the club right now. But when he came to us he had just recovered from a bout of malaria,” says Celtic technical director Mich d’Avray.

“This took a lot out of him and then once he broke into the squad he got a groin injury.”

Osei joined Celtic in the January transfer window.

“I think he is just getting back to what he is all about, so if we do decide to keep him or if he goes to another club, we are likely to see the best of him either way.”
