Mthembu - Manqana will make it at Pirates
Siphelele Mthembu
The former Abafana Bes’thende midfielder has made only one appearance for the Buccaneers since joining them during the January transfer window, but Mthembu believes he has what it takes to command a regular place in the squad.
“It’s a very good career move for him (Manqana). Every player wants to play for a big team like Pirates and I’m sure when the opportunity for him to play there arrived, he didn’t hesitate to take it,” Mthembu told Soccer Laduma.
“I know Njabulo from way back. We were at school together and he was always good at what he was doing, plus he doesn’t shy away from challenges. I have no doubt in my mind that he is going to be a success at Pirates.
“He is a fighter and I’m sure he knew what he was getting himself into before he signed. He knew that he would not only break into the Pirates starting line-up, but he would be a regular player at Bucs.
“Njabulo will make it at Pirates, that’s for sure.”
Mthembu joined Arrows as part of the deal which saw Manqana moving over to the defending champions, and although he is yet to feature for his new club, he feels that his career will be revived under coach Muhsin Ertugral.
“It’s always nice to work under a coach who believes in your abilities,” said Mthembu.
“I’m hoping to repay Muhsin’s faith in me by scoring lots of goals for Abafana Bes’thende this season and beyond.”
