Leopards to play in Polokwane
Black
Leopards will use the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane for the second leg of
their 2012 CAF Confederation Cup tie with Al-Merreikh.
The
game against the Sudanese will be played on Sunday, July 15 with a kick-off
time of 15h00.
There
had been considerations to take the game to the Giyani Stadium, a smaller pitch
where the team might also expect greater support in the stands.
But
as with their previous match in the tournament, a 2-0 victory over Nigerian
side Warri Wolves, the players have expressed the desire to play on the bigger
pitch in Polokwane, which they feel is more suitable to their style.
Leopards
will be hoping to go into the game still in touch with the Sudanese side, who
they play in the first leg in Omdurman on June 30.
They
have at least received a small boost ahead of that game with the news that
veteran Egyptian goalkeeper Essam Al-Hadary will not be available for their
hosts.
The
39-year-old will instead link up with his national side for the second leg of
their 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in the Central African Republic that
will be played on the same day. The Pharaohs trail 3-2 from the first leg.
