If Maluleka goes, life will go on

Ajax Cape Town’s CEO George Comitis says that should they lose George Maluleka to SuperSport United, the midfield department will have enough cover to handle the loss.

The hard-working midfielder, who was the Urban Warriors’ most capped player this past season and with five goals to his name, joined Ajax in 2009 from SuperSport.

Now it has been reported that a return to the Tshwane club is imminent and it is understood that the deal is good as done.

"The problem we had is that George had a buyout clause,” confirmed Comitis to MTNFootball.

“So if SuperSport come up with the money then there is nothing we can do.”

Despite being the club’s most impressive player for Ajax last season, which earned him a trial at Ajax Amsterdam in January, Comitis is convinced he has the adequate players to fill Maluleka’s void.

“We have a lot of midfielders so I am not worried. There is Koen van der Laak, Cole Alexander, Nhlanhla Vilakazi and Granwald Scott so we will be okay.”
