Mogorosi joins Celtic
Botswana international Joel Mogorosi has
completed a transfer to Bloemfontein Celtic from FC Platinum in Zimbabwe.
The 27-year-old only recently joined FC
Platinum from Mochudi Centre Chiefs in his homeland and has moved on without
ever kicking a ball for them.
They agreed to let the player join Celtic
in exchange for P1-million (US$130 000), the profit they have made on a
player who never wore their jersey.
Mogorosi had made it clear that he wanted
to join Celtic after hearing of their interest, and his desire was strengthened
by the sacking of his mentor, ex-Platinum FC coach Rahman Gumbo.
"Joel is a quality player and he will
certainly add value to our team. We are in the process of assembling a strong
squad for the coming season and he is one of the players who we had
targeted," Celtic coach Clinton Larsen told Mmegi Sport.
