Leopards sign Black Aces striker
Black Leopards have completed the signing
of striker Sipamandla Sangweni from Mpumalanga Black Aces.
The former South African Under-23
international is a product of the Africa Sport Youth Development Academy and
made eight appearances in all for Black Aces last season without finding the
back of the net.
“We think he will be a good signing and add
something different to our squad,” says Leopards spokesman Tendani Thidiela.
“This will be his first season in the PSL and at 23 years of age he is still
learning, but he definitely has ability.”
Thidiela says he does not expect the club
to make any more signings ahead of the new season, saying they are happy with
the squad that coach Sunday Chidzambwa has been given to work with.
“I think this is it now, there will be no
more players coming in as far as we are concerned,” he says.
Leopards have already signed two
goalkeepers, Ayanda Mtshali from Free State Stars and Otshudi Lamá from Liga
Muçulmana in Mozambique, as well as midfielders Mondli Miya and Thulani
Ntshingila (both Dynamos), Djunga Munganga (St Eloi Lupopo, DR Congo) and Tommy
Mandlazi (Baobab Zero Fake). Amidu (Kaizer Chiefs) and Sangweni are the new
arrivals up front.
