Chiefs face Tshabalala wait
Kaizer Chiefs face an anxious wait to
find out the extent of the injury to winger Siphiwe Tshabalala.
The Bafana Bafana star limped out of the
Gauteng Cup semifinal win over Moroka Swallows on Saturday and there are now
fears he may be out for some weeks.
"Shabba got a quite nasty one so we
have to wait a couple of days before we can be sure how long he is going to be
away. But certainly he is not going to be training tomorrow anyway,"
Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter told reporters.
Baxter was full of praise for his
players, who went on to win the competition with a 8-7 penalty shoot-out win
over BidVest Wits.
"The total performance of the
players today, I'm very pleased. I thought we played better in the first match
against Swallows, and in the afternoon we made quite lot of changes and the
boys didn't find the rhythm in the first half but they kept going and we happy
to have won in the end," Baxter says.
"When I started here at Chiefs I said
the only promise we can make is that we will go full house and everybody will
give every drop of bullet they got for Chiefs. And I will make my promise
again, we will keep on trying to improve, we will keep on trying to be a better
team and to try to keep a smile on our supporters' faces," Baxter added.
