Black Leopards coach Sunday Chidzambwa says participating in the CAF Confederation Cup will help his team this coming PSL season.

Lidoda Duvha dropped out of the competition after being held 0-0 by Sudanese side Al-Merreikh, exiting at the play-off stage 3-2 on aggregate.

But they still managed to play eight games in this year’s competition and that experience will be invaluable, Chidsambwa says.

“We had a good run in the tournament,” he told reporters. “It was only in this match where we failed to take the numerous chances we created.

“We could have wrapped it up in the first round had we been more clinical up front. But it is a lesson that we are taking into the new season.

“Participating in the Confederation Cup has been a good experience for us and it will be valuable in our PSL campaign. That is a sign of good things to come from this team. It has boosted our confidence and has us targeting some honours this season.”
