Grobler shines in Ajax friendly
Bradley Grobler shined in Ajax Cape Town’s preseason friendly against Tygerberg FC, scoring a goal in Friday’s 2-0 victory.
The 24-year-old, who joined from Turkish club Goztepe after just one season, featured in the first of two friendly matches hosted at the Urban Warriors’ training ground at Ikamva on Friday afternoon.
Grobler was given a run-out from the first minute and impressed from the starting whistle, scoring just six minutes into the fixture.
The striker showed great movement off and on the ball and continuously troubled the last man in Tygerberg’s defence.
Partnering him up front was Matthew Rusike, who spent last season at Jomo Cosmos and is now on trial at Ajax, but the former Bolton Wanderers trialist didn’t find the back of the net.
Grobler is expected provide competition for the complacent Terror Fanteni upfront, who netted just four times in a troubled season.
