Former Golden Arrows midfielder Elrio van Heerden is still hopeful that he will find a new club ahead of the new season.

The 29-year-old midfielder spent the past season with Abafana Bes'thende but was amongst the players who were released at the end of the campaign.

The former Bafana Bafana player is yet to receive any concrete offers but he believes that his experience will land him a deal before the new season kicks off.

“There have been inquiries from clubs in the PSL, but nothing concrete yet," Van Heerden told Soccer Laduma.

"My agent (Rob Moore) is working around the clock to find a suitable club for me.

"In the meantime, I’m training on my own to keep fit."

Van Heerden says he is looking to remain in the local league but has not ruled out returning overseas following his spells with FC Copenhagen, Club Brugge, Blackburn Rovers, Sivasspor and Westerlo.

“My first priority is to remain in the PSL, but I’ll take overseas offers if there is no suitable offer for me in the PSL,” he said.
