Fergusons names squad for SA tour

Sir Alex Ferguson has announced his 22-man squad to face Ajax Cape Town, which will see Rio Ferdinand captain the side.

The Red Devils will be arriving in Durban on Tuesday morning, where they are expected to face AmaZulu on July 18 before making their trip down the coast to the Mother City, where they will face Ajax Cape Town, July 21.

While Ryan Giggs won’t be making the trip experienced players like Paul Scholes and Michael Carrick will be making the trip, alongside Ferdinand who is expected to sport the armband.

Alongside the veterans, youngsters such as Davide Petrucci, Jesse Lingard and Ryan Tunnicliffe will arrive in South Africa, while the highly anticipated arrival of new signings Nick Powell and Shinji Kagawa will take part too.

United team for SA tour: Lindegaard, Amos, Johnstone, Ferdinand, Veseli, Vermijl, Wootton, Blackett, Valencia, Anderson, Carrick, Scholes, Powell, Kagawa, Bebe, Tunnicliffe, Lingard, Brady, Petrucci, Berbatov, Chicharito, Macheda.
