On his recent return from a trial at Ajax Amsterdam, Ajax Cape Town’s George Maluleka says he is hoping for positive feedback.

The 22-year-old attended a week-long trial and says he is confident that he did well.

“It was a long tiring trip but I have no doubt in myself, I performed to the best of my ability. When I went there I was fit, and I felt really great. The only difference was the weather and I adapted very quickly,” he says.

“I am still awaiting feedback, and they will communicate with the coach (Maarten Stekelenberg) and the CEO (George Comitis).

“When I arrived there (in Holland), Khama (Billiat) was heading back home, so that was the only time I got to see him. But I have no doubt that he also did the best of his capabilities.”

When asked what positive feedback he received from former teammate and close friend, Thulani Serero, Maluleka responded: “He is a close friend of mine, and he is always with me, and I do the same with him.

“On my arrival he told me that to get to where he is I will need to work hard and it won’t be any easier. And I also experienced it when I trained.

“But in the end, he told me, that I did very well, and he says I was unfortunate that we did not get to play a friendly because they were going see even more of my capabilities.”
