Nkosi backs Chiefs after draw
Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyabonga Nkosi
says the club is on the right track, despite their 0-0 draw against Free State
Stars at the weekend.
The match between the final two sides with
100 percent records in the PSL ended in a stalemate in a game that was lacking
in quality, but played in very windy conditions.
Nkosi says the team is still on the up
though and believes a point away from home is not such a poor result.
“We knew that it was always going to be difficult going to face a good Free
State Stars side who are hard to beat especially in their backyard,” he told
his club’s website. “We did quite well in the first half creating a number of
chances but the conditions made it difficult for us to convert them.
“Credit to Free State Stars they came back
very strong in the second half. We continued to fight towards the end and
camped on their last attacking third. At the end of the day a point away in
Free State is not a bad result. We came with one intention to win the game but
things did not go our way.
“It is early to talk about winning the
league but it is an objective that we share as a club to win the league this
season. There is nothing that can make me happier than to win silverware this
season.
“We have Black Leopards coming up on September
15, at home and it will be important for us to return to our winning ways,” said
Nkosi.
