Mushekwi in race against transfer deadline shut down
Nyasha Mushekwi of Mamelodi Sundowns
In recent weeks it has been reported that the 25-year-old had passed a medical with the Bundesliga newcomers and that he had flown back to South Africa to join up with his Mamelodi Sundowns teammates.
Mushekwi then went on to play a brief role in Downs’ 3-2 defeat at the hands of Moroka Swallows this weekend and even managed to get on the score sheet, something that could have been a parting gift to Johan Neeskens’ side.
Now his agent, Ralph Nkomo, is currently in the process of sorting out the final parts of the deal with Furth before flying into South Africa to start discussions with Sundowns.
“I’m hopeful of concluding it. I’m waiting for the President, we’re hoping to conclude things this morning and I’m hoping that Sundowns won’t stand in the boy’s way. I don’t think they will,” Nkomo told Soccerladuma.co.za.
It is thought that Mushekwi’s deal could be completed as early as tomorrow, should Furth offer the R10 million that Sundowns are after. The transfer window will shut down on Friday night, both parties will need to get negotiations underway fast.
