Mamelodi Sundowns coach Johan Neeskens has moved swiftly to quash the rumours that he does not get along well with star player Elias Pelembe.

The relationship between Neeskens and Pelembe is apparently in tatters after the Dutch mentor was alleged to have forced out the Mozambican international from pre-season camp, owing to disciplinary problems.

Neeskens however says that it should not be a big surprise that Pelembe watched the MTN8 match against Kaizer Chiefs at Loftus Stadium from the stands on Sunday afternoon.

"I have a big squad," the coach says. "Last year they said I had problems with Pelembe. I don't have any problems with any player.

"I can make choices, I have very good players, and Pelembe is a quality player."

Neeskens says that he picks a team based on the opponents they are playing.

"I study the opponents and I think maybe other players can play a little bit different than we are used to, then we can have more opportunities to get the results.

"Maybe Pelembe can play in the next game or may be Nyasha [Mushekwi] can start.

"I'm very pleased that I have a big squad with players that can also play a little bit differently, because the qualities are there, and I think is a big plus for the coach."
