Mamelodi Sundowns will look to get back to winning ways in the Absa Premiership when they host Maritzburg United at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday, 02 September 2012, kick-off at 15h00.

Sundowns began their league season with a narrow but deserved 1-0 home win over top flight rookies Chippa United.

But the Pretoria team then succumbed to a 2-1 defeat away to Kaizer Chiefs at Soccer City in their last league match.

The Brazilians are placed 10th on the league standings after the first two rounds of matches.

Maritzburg kicked-off their season with a 1-1 draw away to University of Pretoria where they scored a last-gasp equaliser.

The KwaZulu-Natal team then claimed a 2-0 home win over provincial rivals AmaZulu to take their points tally up to four.

The Team of Choice are placed third on the league standings after the first two rounds of matches.

In head-to-head stats, Sundowns and Maritzburg have met in 12 league matches since 2005/06.

The Brazilians have a great record in the rivalry, with 10 wins compared to two for United. There have been zero draws between the teams.

‘Downs even have a 100 percent home record against the Team of Choice, with six wins from as many matches.

Last season, each team won its home match 1-0 against the other.
