Last season’s Absa Premiership champions and runners-up will renew their conflict, as Orlando Pirates host Soweto derby rivals Moroka Swallows at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday, 01 September 2012, kick-off at 20h15.

Pirates began the defence of their title with a 2-1 home win over Golden Arrows and will be eyeing another three-pointer at their stadium.

The Soweto giants then played to a goalless draw away to SuperSport United in Polokwane.

The Buccaneers are placed fifth on the league standings after the first two rounds of matches.

Swallows got their league season off to a rocky start when they were beaten 3-1 away to Platinum Stars.

However, the Soweto club returned to winning ways by defeating Ajax Cape Town 3-1 at home in their last league outing.

The Birds are placed ninth in the league standings after the first two rounds of matches.

In head-to-head stats, Pirates and Swallows have met in 54 league matches since 1985.

Bucs have 21 wins compared to nine for the Birds, while no less than 24 matches have been drawn.

Pirates’ home record against Swallows is a good one: 11 wins from 28 matches, with just four defeats.
