Stars begin with the Clever Boys
Free State Stars and Bidvest Wits will get their 2012/13 PSL campaigns underway when they meet at Goble Park on Saturday, 11 August 2012, kick-off at 15h00.
Stars had a fine 2011/12 season and finished sixth on the league table, claiming 48 points from 30 games.
Ea Lla Koto will be aiming to once again finish in the top half of the table, something they have achieved five times in the PSL era (1996/97 onwards).
Wits finished 12th on the log last season, claiming 33 points from their 30 matches.
The Clever Boys will certainly be aiming to finish much higher up the table, with a top eight place their ultimate target for the season.
In head-to-head stats, Stars and Wits have met in 43 league games since 1986.
The Clever Boys have 15 wins compared to 11 for Ea Lla Koto, while 17 matches have been drawn.
Stars’ home record against Wits down the years reads: P22 W9 D9 L4 GF24 GA16.
Last season the teams drew 0-0 when they met in the Free State, but the return match in Johannesburg went the way of Stars, who won 3-1.
