Ex-Orlando Pirates and Enyimba striker Ezenwa Otorogu has said
he hopes to rejoin Enugu Rangers in the new season.
MTNFootball.com can report authoritatively that Otorogu, who failed to shine at Pirates before he was released on mutual consent, is joined by another Enyimba strong man in defence Nnaemeka Anyanwu and Dolphin ace Azeez Shobowale among the top stars keen to play for ‘The Flying Antelopes’, who finished as runners-up in the league this past season.
Over 20 players have been interviewed by the coaches and management of the Enugu side since the exercise started on Tuesday.
Otorogu, who left Rangers few seasons back to team up with Enyimba, said, “It is good to be back home and I hope to help Rangers do well in all competition next season.
“Although, there is still much to agree upon but I believe that I will lace my boots here next season.”
The big striker has also featured for Club Africain in Tunisia as well as Bloemfontein Celtic in South Africa.
In another development, Enugu State government is planning an elaborate party for the team as a show of appreciation for their exploits this past season but a date is yet to be fixed while the club is still crying out to Nigeria Football Federation to act fast on the protest they lodged over the manner the Nigeria Premier League handled the Ocean Boys case.
Media officer Foster Chime said, “I don’t know what is holding the O & D from meeting to treat our protest. We have a very genuine case and any further delay is doing a lot of harm to our teaming fans and financiers. We are the winners of the league.”
