Kwara United survive 3SC scare

The Ilorin team thus finished on 51 points and their fans went into wild jubilation immediately after the final whistle was sounded against 3SC at the Kwara State Stadium.
"It was a very tough game. Shooting Stars really gave us a big scare because we didn't know our fate yet. We knew we had to win the match to be sure of staying up in NPL,” Kwara spokesman Olusola Ajide Olayioye told MTNFootball.com
“I must commend our boys for doing well. We are in party mood now."
3SC, who were aiming for a continental ticket as they prepared for the game before the NPL decision on Ocean Boys swept away that aspiration, still put up their best as they wanted to end the season on a high.
Both teams played their hearts out and Kwara United have to thank their goalkeeper Suraju Ayeleso, who made some brilliant saves to keep ‘The Oluyole Warriors’ at bay.
Kwara youngster Segun Alebiosu was frustrated by 3SC goalkeeper Emma Daniel until he broke the deadlock in the 78th minute.
3SC were still fighting hard, but Kwara United stood their ground before Kabiru Sanusi doubled the lead in the 82nd minute.
In other games, Emem Uduak's brace was all 2010/2011 NPL winners Dolphin needed to escape relegation after they beat relegated Rising Stars 2-0.
Dolphin found themselves in relegation water after the NPL decision to expel Ocean Boys and needed to beat Rising Stars to remain a NPL side.
Uduak opened scoring in the 20th minute before he put the game to rest on the hour with his second strike.
Heartland defeated Akwa United 1-0, same as Gombe United over Warri Wolves. Enyimba trounced Wikki 3-0.
