Top-4 target set for new Sharks coach Eguavoen
Eguavoen has two-year deal at Sharks
Former Enyimba coach Eguavoen was finally announced on Saturday as Sharks coach in place of John Obuh and he will be assisted by Sunny Esikweme.
George Onyenekwe was appointed goalkeeper trainer.
Rivers State sports commissioner Fred Igwe charged Eguavoen to ensure Sharks finish among the top four clubs next season and also win the country’s FA Cup.
He said the former Nigeria international was given a two-year deal because of his pedigree and he will not take up any national team post during that time.
Last season, Sharks finished seventh on 52 points.
Eguavoen, who has also coached the Super Eagles, Olympic team and the national U17s, quit his post at Enyimba before the end of last season.
It is believed he was very unhappy with the working conditions at the six-time league champions in his second spell.
