Isa Sharif gets Ukraine trials extension
Sharif still in Ukraine
“We now expect Sharif to rejoin us sometime next week after we agreed for him to spend an additional week on trials in Ukraine,” disclosed Pillars spokesman Idris Malikawa.
“We initially gave him a two-week leave, but he later asked for another week after which he again demanded for another extension.”
Malikawa said the feedback they have so far received indicate the former schoolboy international was successful during the trials and has already begun negotiations with the Ukrainian club Obolon FC.
Meanwhile, Pillars will play Saturday’s Round of 32 Federation Cup tie against either Kaduna United or Police Machine without star striker Gambo Mohammed as well as Nasiru Ali.
Mohammed, who has netted 11 goals in the Nigeria Premier League, has been ruled out due to injury, while Ali will be getting married this weekend.
