After dropping two points at home against Pillars, hosts Heartland
aim to beat Sunshine Stars Saturday in a rescheduled NPL tie.
Both teams dropped valuable points at home Wednesday after Pillars forced Heartland to a 1-1 draw in Owerri and Sunshine played out a goalless draw with neighbours Shooting Stars in Ijebu-Ode.
Sunshine goalkeeper Moses Ocheje told MTNFootball.com that they were disappointed to fail to beat 3SC at home and so they now hope for a better result on the road.
"It is a game we have prepared for. We are going for nothing less than a draw after we lost two precious points against 3SC at home. We have put that result behind us so as to go all out against Heartland,” Ocheje said.
“If 3SC could come to us and get a draw, I see us doing same, if not better, against Heartland."
Heartland star defender Chinedu Efugh said anything less than a home victory against this year’s CAF Champions League campaigners would be regarded as failure.
"We were not happy with the draw at home recorded against Kano Pillars on Wednesday. That result has made us to be like a wounded lion, so Sunshine Stars we feel our anger as we are ready for nothing but victory as anything short of that would be a disappointment,” Efugh told MTNFootball.com
‘The Naze Millionaires’ have been boosted by the return this week of Dutch coach Lodewijk de Kruif, who was forced out of the club recently following problems over the payment of his salaries.
