Kano Pillars have suspended star winger John Huan over an illegal clearance issued him to play in Albania recently.

A statement by Pillars spokesman Idris Malikawa announced that the suspension will run until after an investigation into how the player was cleared to play overseas is concluded.

“The player has been suspended from Monday and investigations have begun to find out who were those behind the issuance of the clearance for the player to play abroad,” said Malikawa.

“Anyone found guilty of being behind this illegality will be punished.”

Former Dolphin star Huan played briefly in Albania until he returned to Pillars recently.

However, it was later gathered that he was illegally cleared by someone to play abroad posing as a representative of Pillars.

The club then set up a probe panel to uncover how this came about.
