Akpabio signs for Ajax Cape Town

Akpabio was among the top scorers in Nigeria league last term with 17 goals despite his team's poor run in the NPL.
He came through the youth ranks of Plateau United, who this season are campaigning in the Nigeria lower league after they were relegated last season.
An estatic Akpabio revealed to MTNFootball.com few minutes after the paper work was done and he had put pen to paper.
"I just want to inform you that I am now an Ajax Cape Town player. I just signed the contract,” said the striker, who was on trials for three weeks.
“I am happy that I got the contract, I can now settle down to face a new challenge.”
Akpabio was on trials with Viking FC of Norway but could not pen a deal. He was also on the wanted list of clubs in Turkey and Nigeria before he moved to South Africa.
