Heartland win race for Amankwei
James Amankwei has opted for Heartland
Enyimba were hoping to make Amakwei, who fired home five goals last season, their third signing from the Jos club only to be beaten at the post by Heartland.
Heartland spokesman Cajetan Nwkopara said Amankwe is one of 13 new players signed by ‘The Naze Millionaires’ for the new season.
The other new signings include Togo defender Emmanuel Mathias, Dolphin defender Uche Oguchi, Enugu Rangers strikers Kabiru Umar and Brendan Ogbu as well as Abdul Haruna from Kano Pillars.
Others are Chigozie Christopher from Dolphin, Jolly Osarumwense from Zamfara Utd, and Lobi Stars duo of Arinze Nwosu and Danladi Isah as well as Kemeh Thomas from JUTH FC, Peter Gyang from Plateau United and Dream Team V captain, Kingsley Udoh, who is making a return to the club
Imo State commisioner for youth and sSports performed a ceremonial presentation of jerseys to each of the players.
Earlier, Heartland CEO Fan Ndubouke explained that the club went far and wide to search for quality
plaxers so that they could contest effectively for trophies.
Heartland will feature in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup.
