Gombe United have stayed top of
the NPL after putting five goals past Sharks at the Patami Stadium Wednesday.
Gombe United have now gather 13 points from five matches to remain on top of the league table.
Gombe striker Mustapha Sule Babadidi is also the league leading scorer with five goals after he scored a brace against Sharks, while his teammate Sanusi Sani fired home the third hat-trick of the new NPL season.
Chief coach of Gombe, Manu Garba, told MTNFootball.com that his team plan to sustain this early season momentum.
“Continuity has been the key to our performances so far and we hope to sustain the tempo, we did not buy too many players while the coaches are also very much in place. There is understanding on and off the pitch," said Garba, who is also coach of the Nigeria U17 team.
