Broke Rangers yet to register for Champions League
Rangers new signing Pape Sane yet to be cleared
Rangers finished as runners-up last season behind Kano Pillars and both teams will represent Nigeria in the 2013 Champions League.
Pillars have since submitted a 27-man squad to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for onward transmission to the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
However, Rangers are yet to do so.
A top source informed MTNFootball.com that lack of funds has stalled the club’s registration for continental action next year.
The source said: “As I speak with you, we have not sent our list of players for registration in the CAF Champions League because we don’t have funds to get the clearance for the players who we hope to feature in the competition. It is really painful.”
‘The Flying Antelopes’ have agreed personal terms with several top stars like goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim, Sunday Mba (Warri Wolves), Solomon Jaberson (Akwa United), Victor Ezeji, Pape Ousmane Sane (Sharks), Valentine Iworie (Sunshine Stars) and Josiah Maduabuchi (Enyimba).
However, they are yet to clear them from their various clubs.
