NPL final games early next month

The final games of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) will be played by first week of next month, officials said.

MTNFootball.com gathered from NPL secretariat through the executive secretary Tunji Babalola that the Week 38 round of matches will be played after the final of Federations Cup on August 26.

"We have not fixed the date for the Week 38 games. It will be after the Federation Cup final, but I can tell you it will be in September, may be by first week of September but we have not fixed the actual date yet," Babalola told MTNFootball.com

On the outstanding games, Babalola said they will be played on August 22 and 23.

The outstanding game between ABS and Sunshine Stars in Ilorin will be played on Wednesday, while that involving Warri Wolves and Rising Stars will be staged on Thursday in Warri. 

Pillars are top of the table on 64 points, a point more than closest rivals Lobi Stars. Enugu Rangers are third in the standings with 61 points.
