Nigeria Premier League leading scorer Sibi Gwar has told MTNFootball.com he will take his chance in the Super Eagles.

Gwar has been picked in the final squad for a friendly in Niger on Wednesday.

And the Niger Tornadoes striker, who has fired 16 goals this season, admitted expectations are high for him to deliver in Niger.

"I know everyone will be watching to see how I perform in the Eagles. I know I can deliver and my being here is to prove that my goals in the league are not a fluke,” Gwar told MTNFootball.com

“Some people have even said that I got all my goals at home, but for the records six of my 16 goals so far were scored in away matches.

"My aim right now is to impress the coach, play myself into his team and then try to score the goals."

Sibi Gwar has been rewarded for his goals this term with his first-ever invitation to the national team.

"I am delighted that my long-term dream of playing for the national team has come true. I am happy to play for Nigeria and I am excited. I thank coach Stephen Keshi for giving me this chance,” the striker said after he featured in a test game against Police Machine of Abuja before the team’s departure to Niger Republic.

Ahmed Musa, who was the NPL hotshot two seasons ago, has taken his place in the Eagles, while last season’s Goal King Jude Aneke has not.
