The Nigeria Premier League will resume with Week 37 matches on Wednesday, August 15, after a break caused by the Federation Cup playoffs.

This was disclosed to MTNFootball.com by NPL executive secretary Tunji Babalola.

"The league will resume on Wednesday, August 15, with Week 37 games. We don't want the season to extend longer than necessary, since Federation Cup semi-finals have been moved we have to play the remaining league games,” Babalola disclosed.

The top NPL chief said the Week 37 game between Sunshine Stars and Kwara United will be played on Sunday in Ijebu-Ode so as to allow the Akure club thereafter leave for a CAF Champions League match at ASO Chlef of Algeria billed for next weekend.
