Enugu Rangers have thrown open the gates for Wednesday’s decisive tie at home against Sunshine as they aim to regain leadership of the NPL.

Title-chasing Rangers are now third on the league table on 58 points, three points behind leaders Kano Pillars, with a game in hand.

Media Officer of the Enugu side, Forster Chime, told MTNFootball.com that the management after due consultations decided to throw the gates open to attract more fans to the stadium to cheer Rangers to victory against Sunshine Stars.

“We are hoping to annex the three points from that game to reclaim our top position in the league. There will be no gate fees for the game and I hope that fans will come out in their numbers to cheer us to victory.”

“The management of Rangers after a lot of consideration decided to go for this option. It is our strong belief that with a large home crowd in attendance, the players will be motivated to go for the ‘kill’ against Sunshine Stars,” disclosed Chime.

In another development, Rangers have officially quashed the indefinite suspension slapped on captain James Okwuosa after they had alleged he went AWOL to seal a lucrative deal in South Africa with Ajax Cape Town.

Chime made available a statement which read in part, “Rangers management, Monday, lifted the suspension order placed on AWOL skipper James Okwuosa few weeks ago. The suspension order was lifted after satisfactory investigation into the matter.”
