Russia-based striker Emmanuel Emenike will be recalled by Nigeria on the condition he agrees to behave better, officials said.

The Spartak Moscow striker was overlooked by coach Stephen Keshi for this month’s three qualifiers because of “poor attitude”, but officials disclosed the Eagles coach has now agreed to pick the big striker as he seeks solutions to his low-scoring team.

“Emenike is being seriously considered to return to the Eagles because he has shown at least in Europe that he knows how to score goals,” a top team official informed MTNFootball.com

“But that can only be on the condition that the player conducts himself better in the national team.

”His attitude must change drastically and he should be willing to humble himself and not always feel too big.”

The former FC Cape Town star has made his mark in Russia after a sensational switch from Fenerbahce in Turkey, where he was also a hero for Karabukspor.

He ended his first season in Russia as the most prolific African there with 13 goals.

The 24-year-old centre forward has scored once in five appearances for Nigeria since he made his long-awaited debut in February 2011 against Sierra Leone in Lagos.

He last featured for the Eagles in a 2-0 win over Zambia in a friendly played in Kaduna in November.

Nigeria’s next full international game would most likely be a friendly on August 15 during the FIFA free window.

They will then play the final round of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers between October and November.
