Super Eagles have dropped John Utaka and Wigan winger Victor Moses for Saturday’s Nations Cup qualifying tie against Rwanda.

The Eagles desperately attempted during the week to disclaim a story by MTNFootball.com that coach Stephen Keshi was considering dropping the two strikers after they failed to hit target against Malawi and Namibia.

And now in place of Utaka and Moses, CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa and Uche Kalu from Enyimba will start this 2013 Nations Cup qualifier in Calabar.

Musa came off the bench last weekend in Malawi to deliver the cross from which Gabriel Rueben nodded the Eagles ahead before the host team fought back to draw 1-1 in a 2014 World Cup qualifier.

The other fresh starter for the Eagles is Sporting Braga of Portugal defender Elderson Echiejile, who has come in for Sharks left back Juwon Oshaniwa

Eagles starting XI vs Rwanda

Vincent Enyeama – Godfrey Oboabona, Elderson Echiejile, Efe Ambrose, Azubuike Egwuekwe – Gabriel Reuben, Obiora Nwankwo, Ahmed Musa – Ejike Uzoenyi, Uche Kalu, Ike Uche

Coach: Stephen Keshi
